There are a few of you out there who are shedding a few tears as summer comes to a close. You are already missing the dog days of summer, the dips in the pool and the days that last seemingly forever.
Summer is fine and it certainly has its perks. But we feel that summer is overrated and the best season by far is fall. And we think most of you would agree. For those of you weeping for summer, it’s time to move on and embrace autumn.
What is the best part about fall? How about enjoying a Sunday afternoon sipping beer, eating tacos, watching football and playing a few games at Hops N Guac, your Mexican restaurant in Huntsville. Here are a few more reasons why fall is the best season.
Pumpkin spice suffers a lot of abuse this time of year. The problem is that even if you thoroughly enjoy pumpkin spice, you would never readily admit it.
Never mind the pumpkin-spiced beer or the pumpkin-spiced potato chips, we are looking forward to trying pumpkin-spiced cream cheese. Yes, that is a real thing.
Shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops are comfortable and about the only clothing you can wear in the summer, but it is not really very fashionable. There is only so much you can do to flip-flops to make them more fashionable and less casual.
If you feel the need to make a fashion statement, fall is the time of year to do so. Fall clothing includes hoodies, jackets and even scarves if you are into that sort of thing.
Sitting around the firepit in the summer was fun, except that you were extremely uncomfortable sitting in front of a fire in the heat.
That isn’t the case in the fall. With the cooler weather, a firepit is cozy and fun. Grab a bag of marshmallows to enhance the experience.
You start to count the number of baseball games you have watched this year and wind up giving up because it’s too many to keep track. From college to the pros, fall is full of football and you are glued to that chair every Sunday watching your favorite teams.
Fall is also the season when you can start watching hockey and basketball as well. In fact, there are two glorious weeks in October when all four major sports are in season. That’s right, two weeks of football, baseball, hockey and basketball. It’s great to be alive.
Raise your hand if Christmas is your favorite holiday. Just as we thought, most of you have your hands in the air. As fall rolls in, the cooler weather and crispness in the air reminds us that Christmas if not that far away. Something to look forward to.
Fall weather can be summed up as not too hot and not too cold. In other words, perfect weather.
